Non-Traditional Wedding DJs is a wedding DJ agency based in New York City and Philadelphia.
We have a roster of about 30 DJs and we perform at hundreds of weddings a year.
We are looking for Associate DJs to join our team.

What Is an Associate DJ at NTWDJ?
The Associate tier is our entry level. You are a DJ with real experience, but you have not done many weddings yet. That is totally fine.
Our office staff handles the client communication, the timelines, and the logistics. Your job is to show up, provide equipment, and play great music. Every wedding you do with us builds your portfolio and your confidence in the wedding world.
The pay is $1,300 per wedding.

Main Tier
Once you complete ten weddings for NTWDJ, you move up to our main tier rate of $2,000 per wedding.
That new rate applies to future bookings only. Any weddings already on your calendar that were booked at $1,300 stay at $1,300. You perform those as agreed.
Your rate goes up, but you honor the price that was already promised to the couple.

What we are looking for
Real Mixing
You know how to mix. Club, bar, warehouse — real experience behind the decks, not just playing playlists.
Indie Sensibility
Your taste leans indie. We would rather teach an indie DJ the pop music than teach a pop DJ the indie music. Taylor Swift, Avicii, and LMFAO as your go-tos is a bad sign.
Almost no Mic
You can keep your mouth shut. Minimal announcements only, in a natural voice. If you love being an MC or "event host," this is not the right gig.
Accepting of all
You will DJ for everyone. That includes gay couples. That includes gay male couples. This is non-negotiable and if that is a problem, please do not apply.
Not Flaky
You are organized and responsive. Our couples expect same day replies and a smooth planning process. We need DJs who answer messages quickly and keep their calendar and commitments in order.
Zoom Calls
Before each wedding there is a 30 minute sales call with the couple and a 30 minute final planning call. These are part of the job and they are not compensated separately. The $1,300 covers everything.
Have Gear
You have your gear or are willing to buy it. Minimum: three speakers and two mics, one wireless.
Have Transportation
You can get yourself and your gear to the venue. Car, rental, Uber — we do not care, as long as you can make it work.

Brand Backing
You are backed by a 5-star rated company on Google and The Knot. We have the most wedding DJs and book the most weddings of any company in New York City.
Admin Support
Our admin team handles the client relationships before and after booking the wedding so you can focus on the music.
