"I love the opportunity to contribute to the energy of one of the most important days in a person's life," says Ayanna Heaven. "The music is such a key component in the memories of the event."

Originally from St. Mary, Jamaica, Ayanna spent a decade in Atlanta before putting down roots in Brooklyn. She studied ethnomusicology in college, taught herself to DJ as a teenager, and has been performing full time for years  She spins most nights of the week at venues like Public Records, Elsewhere, Good Room, and Bossa Nova Civic Club.

Ayanna's profile extends well beyond NYC. She's played a Boiler Room set, been featured on the Resident Advisor podcast, and performed on four continents. She holds down two radio shows, the monthly Sounds of Heaven on Lot Radio and the biweekly Across 110th Street on WKCR. Her corporate clients include Adidas, Nike, Foot Locker, and Virgin Hotels, and she's performed for and alongside artists like Olivia Dean, Buju Banton, and Linton Kwesi Johnson.

Ayanna brings a deep, eclectic record bag and a vinyl-first sensibility to every event. And she'll keep the announcements minimal and the dance floor full.
