Haley and Chris chose the Greenpoint Loft as their wedding venue. It is a large industrial event space in Greenpoint, Brooklyn that used to be a rope factory.
It has two floors. The first floor is a large wood and brick space. The second floor is a smaller area that leads to a rooftop patio with Manhattan skyline views.
Greenpoint Loft Capacity
The Greenpoint Loft has a capacity of 185. Haley and Chris had 135 guests.
They had their ceremony in the main space. Afterwards, guests went upstairs for cocktail hour.
Next, everyone came down the stairs to have dinner followed by dancing. Haley and Chris were introduced into the room followed by first dance, and parents dances.
Next they had speeches followed by dinner. Dinner went on for a little over an hour.
Brooklyn Wedding DJs
The main dancing started after dinner and continued until the end of the event with a short break for cake cutting.
Haley and Chris chose Ben Boylan of Non-Traditional Wedding DJs as their DJ.
Haley and Chris were familiar with Ben's work. They had gone to The Woods, a bar in Brooklyn, where he DJed for many years.
They asked for a mix of many different kinds of music. They included current pop music, club hip-hop, and a lot of Latin music including reggaeton, merengue and salsa.
It was a very lively dance party. They danced for a long time and really had fun. It was awesome!
Non-Traditional Wedding DJs provided all the sound equipment:
A microphone for their officiant at their ceremony
A speaker upstairs for cocktail hour
Microphones for speeches and toasts during dinner
A large speaker system in the main space (for ceremony, dinner and dancing)
